Hi Friends,
Welcome to Tip 6 of our Spring Clean Your Health Series — today’s focus is Food: What am I feeding my body?
What we eat directly affects how we move, feel, and think. Food isn’t just fuel — it’s information for your body. Every bite tells your system how to perform, recover, and age. When we nourish well, we move well.
Here are some simple ways to give your body the nutrients it deserves:
Start with awareness. Keep a short food diary for 3–5 days. Write down what and when you eat — you’ll quickly spot habits, triggers, and patterns. Feel free to use this template as a starting point.
Check the balance. Aim for a plate that includes lean protein, colourful vegetables, healthy fats, and quality carbohydrates. Proper portions keep your energy levels stable throughout the day. Be aware of the current Australian Dietary Guidelines found here: https://www.eatforhealth.gov.au/guidelines/australian-dietary-guidelines-1-5
Choose real, whole foods. The closer your food is to its natural form, the more nutrients it provides. Think fresh over packaged, colourful over beige. View this amazing resource for quick reference https://www.eatforhealth.gov.au/guidelines/australian-guide-healthy-eating
Hydrate and time your meals. Water supports digestion, and eating consistently (every 3–4 hours) helps maintain energy and metabolism.
Plan ahead. Prep a few healthy snacks — like nuts, fruit, or yoghurt — so you’re less tempted by quick, processed options. Or you could g next level like me and prep whole lunches and meals ahead of time. Set yourself up for sucess!

Warmly,
Monique
