Spring Clean Your Health to Get the Best Out of Your Fitness!

I don’t get sick often! In fact, thinking back, I’ve only been unwell twice in my adult life — the flu at 19 and food poisoning at 23. Even COVID barely got a sniffle out of me, so yes, I count my blessings when I say I’m a reasonably healthy person — and i attribute this to my devine God, good genes, and a lifestyle that’s (mostly) balanced and intentional.


But this week? A savage case of hives took me right to the edge. It’s been the most uncomfortable I’ve ever felt in my lifetime— and it’s made me stop and reflect. In fitness, my health is everything.


So, maybe it’s time for a spring clean.


Not just in my home, but in my body, my mind, and my habits.


Here’s where I’m starting — my back-to-basics Ground Zero checklist:

  • Air: What and how am I breathing?

  • Water: What and how much am I drinking?

  • Sun: Am I getting enough Vitamin D?

  • Toxins: What chemicals have I introduced into my home & life?

  • Food: What am I feeding my body?

  • Mind: What am I feeding my mind?

  • Spiritual: Am I aligned with my beliefs and practicing them daily?

  • Material: What am I surrounding and clothing myself with — physically and energetically?

  • Rest & Recovery: Am I prioritising this crucial part of my wellbeing?


And then there’s Stress — the biggest toxin of all. That one’s moving to the top of my priority list! Reduce stress at all costs.


So, I’ll reorder, reflect, and take it one step at a time. Lucky for me, Spring lasts a few weeks — plenty of time to reset and rebuild.
